Nanotechnology

While doing the research on Nanotechnolgy I thougt it was going to be very boring, but I was wrong.  There was some very interseting information on the past and prestent historty of Nanotechnology.  Something I found interesting was how it is being used for cancer treatment which to me is a plus sense I have a family history of cancer on both side of my family.  I also thought the artifical brain was interesting al here is a link about cancer check it out.

Skin into Gadget Control Pad

Now researches have found away so that you can just tap on your fingers or your arms to operate different types of programs. On one demo it had a phone key pad and you could dial the number right in your hand, it also had someone playing a video game right in the palm of the hand by simply touching. They are saying that this will be able to be learned in about 20 minutes. What do you all think about having you hands and arms able to work a display menu or play games? The thought of it is very interesting . Go to the site and watch the video to see how it will work and tell me what you think http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8587486.stm

Quantum Dot Technology

It has been said that in the near future that photographers will have better cell phone cameras.  Some of the new phones out now they take pretty good pictures much better than what the use to be.  But now reserarchers are saying that with Quantum Dot Technology the pictures will look just a s good as they do on the new camcorders. With this technology more light will be captured and this is suppose to result in a better image.  I have to say when it comes to computers and other elctronics their is always going to be something new.  So how many of you when this technology is released will be ready to trade in your cell phones for a better picture?  They haven't put a price out there yet but we all know it will be costly!!!! So I will wait until the price goes down before I buy It.  What about the rest of you?  Here is a link check it out:   http://www.timesnewsline.com/

Google Earth

After doing the report on Google Earth and Bing Maps I really began to think about it. I said to my self now self when I put my address in on Google Earth it showed my house front yard and everything thats not good not good at all. I like using it but when it came down to my house being shown the thought is kind of creepy. Also While I was doing some more with Bing it gave a picture of this little boy through the photosynth and he was probally no more than 6 thats not good at all especially with some of these nut cases out here today. So exactly how much time and money do you all think is being put into Google Earth and Bing???? Will you continue to use it??? Are you going to spread the word about it to family and friends??? I know when I showed my mother her house through Google Earth she almost passed out she didn't like that at all!!!! Airnergy WiFi Harvesting Charger

RCA has created this hand held energy-harvesting battery .  This device is called Airnergy and is  used to charge by WiFi Signal. The price of this will be $40-$50 and they want it to be smaller than a smart phone.  The battery will charge depending on how close the battery is to the original signal. So far it is able to fully charge a Blackberry in about 90 minutes.  Do you think this will be a good product, me personally I think it will have a lot of issues as far as being able to keep a charge! But I could be wrong, I guess we will see how this product will turn out. Here are some sites to check it out and let me know what you think. http://ces.cnet.com/?categoryId=10406866&tag=rtcol

I want to know after we did the VmWare installation how many of you are going to use this at home? I also have been getting more information on it and this was an interesting site with some information that was helpful to me.http://www.vmware.com/

I was looking online about the Microsoft Surface for 2010 and it is just amazing to me, but is going to be a good thing for department stores and the other retail community. Is graphics and hands on technolgy going to pay off or is it going to run Microsoft in the ground. The President of Microsoft seems to be very confident and the first of these will go into reaturants and bars and will cost from $5,000-$10,000. I think it will be a good thing what about you. Here are a couple of links check them out and let me know waht you think

Introduction

Hi, my name is Biscegelia Thorne and I am currently enrolled at ECC and this is my last semester. In high school I was always interested in computers. When I graduated I came here in 1998 then I transfered to NCCU in 1999 and now I'm back at ECC to finish what I started. Before I became a full time student all of my jobs have involved computers. I worked at Radio Shack were I sold all types of electronics and handled customer accounts. After that I worked for Ageis Communications were my job position was data entry.

I hope to continue to learn more information with this class and I look forward to reading my classmates blogs and sharing mine. I wish everyone the best of luck this semester!!
